Fish Stocking with Margaree Fish Hatchery!
Each year, ISAA has the opportunity to participate in fish stocking activities with the Margaree Fish Hatchery! There is a variation of fish ranging from Fry, Parr to Adult sized Speckled Trout that get released into the rivers within Southern Inverness County.
ISAA also assists the fish hatchery in salmon broodstock collection on the Mabou River in the Fall . If we have any luck in catching our broodstock salmon, they get transported to the Margaree Fish Hatchery for spawning! The eggs that are collected from spawning are then hatched, raised, and then released back into the Mabou Rivers.
ISAA would like to thank the Margaree Fish Hatchery for the continuous support and partnership. Its always a fun experience when assisting in broodstock collection and fish stocking!
